Bill Gates is the modern devil of computing who uses lock in to keep people buying inferior software products. It is the policy of Game Design Novice not to mention people we don't like, but despite all the controversy and speculation that Bill Gates is the antichrist, he is here because we have to give him credit where credit is due.
His contribution to BASIC is unmeasurable. When most people think of BASIC, they most often think of some dialect of Microsoft BASIC, which was used on most classic computers and now forms the template for most modern BASICs. He is also responsible for VBScript, a very easy-to-use OO scripting language used in game programming languages like Brutus2D.
For these contributions, and nothing else, he as been awarded the New Dog.
